A way to a person’s heart is through food

Our mum met Eric, our dad, back in the 1970s. When she saw him at the airport for the first time with his shaggy hair and thick black glasses it was love at first sight. However, Eric had to go on proposing for weeks afterwards before she could take him seriously. It was only when Eric made this dish for Mum – the Fillet Steak in Black Pepper sauce, using the choicest steak he could afford, that she said yes. So perhaps the old adage is true, the way to the heart is through the stomach.
